In the later period of Japanese puppet regime, Tangshan City public hospital was established in1943.
After the victory of Anti-Japanese War, the KMT government in Tangshan City issued a bull in May 10th, 1946, took over the original municipal public hospital, and from then on it was named of Tangshan City municipal hospital.
In December 12th, 1948, the liberation of Tangshan, the people's Government took over the original municipal hospital and then renamed it as Tangshan people's Hospital.
In 1956, the Tangshan people's Hospital was renamed as the Tangshan first hospital.
In August 1988, the municipal government decided to established "Tangshan City cancer hospital" in the people's Hospital of Tangshan City, opened authorized 100 tumor beds.
In August 1989, the hospital’s name restored as Tangshan people's Hospital, which has been used to today.

2014
June 23rd, our hospital and the Hebei Tangshan harbour Economic Development Zone Management Committee signed a Harbor Hospital hosting agreement, hosting a period of 15 years.
July 2nd, the 34th official documents which was issued by the health and Family Planning Commission of Hebei Province in 2014, after discussing and agreed that to establish “Tangshan cancer treatment center", affiliated Tangshan People’s Hospital.

On March 1st, Hebei provincial health and Family Planning Commission in 2013 issued the hospital management class the tenth document contained that in the basic skills contest of Hebei Province medical staff job activities, our hospital was rated as advanced units.
In December, the pathology department of the Tangshan people's Hospital passed the National Planning Commission (PQCC) the pathological center of large hospital. pathology department of breast cancer group HER2 immune detection quality control evaluation project organization, became the only hospital in Tangshan City won the national pathological assessment center (PQCC) hospital.
2012
October 31st -November 2nd, Tangshan City people's Hospital became the only one Helping unit of the Chinese Medical Association nuclear medicine in Hebei province. The start of this work would greatly promote the development of the work of radionuclide therapy in our hospital.
2011
On May 24th, after the Hebei provincial health department research, agreed our hospital to join the Li Jiacheng foundation to carry out hospice care plan, to carry out hospice care.
On July 5th, our hospital was recognized as the tertiary general hospitals by Hebei Province health department.
On December 12th, the Tangshan people's Hospital breast surgery was identified by the Hebei Provincial health Department as the Hebei Province provincial medical key subjects.
2010
On January 22nd, our hospital and Douhe Power Plant signed a cooperation agreement, in cooperation with Datang international Douhe Power Plant, on the base of the original Douhe Power Plant Health center to establish the third branch of Tangshan people’s hospital.
On April 15th, our hospital held love relief donation for Yushu earthquake donation ceremony, the hospital more than one thousand employees and retirees total donate money 80 thousand yuan.
On April 16th，Vice chairman of the CPPCC Tangshan City, Tangshan people's Hospital president Hu Wanning as the chief leader, led our city 70 members of Yushu Qinghai earthquake rescue and disaster relief team, travelled Day and night rushed to Qinghai Yushu earthquake disaster area for earthquake relief.
Since May 6th, our hospital Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology , Department of general surgery, Department of cerebral surgery, Department of thoracic surgery, Department of breast, head and neck surgery, Department of Urology, operation room, Department of soft bone tumor gradually moved into the building, which marked the tumor building of Tangshan people's Hospital officially put into use.
2009
April 2nd, according to the Tangshan City Health Bureau in 2009 issued the medical management class thirty-second document contained that our hospital department of medical oncology was identified as the third batch of Tangshan City municipal medical key subjects.
In December 30th, according to the Tangshan City Health Bureau in 2009 issued the medical management class 110th document contained that our hospital department of cardiology, neurosurgery, intensive medicine, bone and soft tissue tumors were identified as the first batch of Tangshan City Municipal Medical key development disciplines.
2008
On May 14th, our hospital formed 20 people's earthquake relief medical rescue team, president Hu Wanning as captain, led 17 team members flew to the disaster area in Sichuan, Team member Li Changjiang made the first operation in Sichuan. On the same day the remaining 2 team members drove ambulances loaded with relief medicines about more than 100000 yuan of relief supplies and rushed to the disaster area. President Hu Wanning commissioned by the municipal government, was in charge of the overall coordination of the Sichuan Tangshan City earthquake relief command. By the end of May 31st, when the rescue team were withdrawn, we had finished major surgery and minor surgery totally more than 200 surgeries, rescued more than 800 cases; diagnosed and treated 6063 sick and wounded people.
In September 4th, according to the Hebei Provincial Department of health in 2008 issued the medical management class seventy-third document contained that after the Hebei provincial health department researching and field investigation, agreed that Tangshan people's hospital to increase 396 beds, with a total of 920, and took into the three general hospital management.
2007
In April 19th, our hospital and the people's Procuratorate of Lunan District hold Joint crime prevention signing ceremony.
In July 31st, the construction of the hospital ward building started.
2006
November 20th，our hospital integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine oncology department was identified by Tangshan City Health Bureau as the Tangshan City first batch of traditional Chinese Medicine specialty。
2005
In April 29th, Hebei Province million women breast screening project officially started, held at the Hebei Medical University Center for breast screening census listing ceremony and ribbon cutting ceremony, our hospital was selected as the first batch of one of the three national "million women breast screening project" the province's designated units.
2004
February 24th, according to the Hebei Provincial Department of health in 2004 issued the medical management class twenty-fourth document contained that Health Department of Hebei Province agreed that Newly established Tangshan City breast disease prevention and treatment center anchored in our hospital.
April 24th, according to the Hebei Provincial Department of health in 2004 issued the medical management class twenty- third document contained that the health department of Hebei Province approved the establishment of Tangshan City radiotherapy center, which anchored in our hospital.
June 22nd, according to the Tangshan City development and Reform Commission issued in 2004 the 221st documents contained in the document, approved by the Tangshan City development and Reform Commission agreed to increase 200 beds in our hospital , the total number of beds to reached 740.
November 30th, our hospital signed an agreement with the Tangshan City Qixin Cements Limited Company, Tangshan City Qixin Cements Limited Company hospital commissioned to our hospital management.
2003
On April 8th, we began to build fever clinic, located in the original emergency department, on April 15th formally put into use.
On May 3rd, our hospital fight SARS medical team rushed to the city infectious diseases hospital for "SARS" the front line, 28 days later, compiled the task successfully.
August 26th, Hebei Provincial Department of Justice approved the establishment of the Tangshan City forensic center in our hospital.
2002
On August 14th, according to the Tangshan City Health Bureau in 2002 issued the primary health class seventeenth document contained that after the Municipal Health Bureau decision, build a new rural primary health technical personnel training base in Tangshan City, the medical department as a training base office.
On August 28th, according to the Tangshan City Health Bureau in 2002 issued the medical management class fifty-sixth document contained that the general oncology department of our hospital was identified by the Municipal Public Health Bureau as the second batch of key medical disciplines.
December 17th, our hospital get ISO9001 (2000) quality system certificate of China new era quality system certification center.
2001
In October, our hospital started to implement the patient to choose the doctor system, and doctors were divided into groups, carried out the three level of physician responsibility system.
2000
November 1st, according to the Hebei Provincial Department of health in 2000 issued the construction of spiritual civilization class eleventh document contained that our hospital was determined by the Provincial Civilization Office as the health services of the three star unit of 1999 annual health system.
